Wisconsin Connections Academy Report Card

Wisconsin Connections Academy is an online, tuition-free public charter school for grades K-12. Established in 2002, WCA was Wisconsin’s first virtual school. High school students receive online textbooks and a loaned laptop and may choose from diverse core and elective offerings, which includes honors, AP, and ACT/SAT test prep.

Mission Statement

Connections Academy provides a new form of free public school that students attend from home or another location outside a traditional classroom. This is a unique program that combines the strong parental involvement of home schooling, expertise and accountability, and a flexible learning environment. Connections Academy provides all the tools and support students need to learn in the non-classroom setting. We currently operate schools in many states.

The debate on the importance and value of standardized test scores has raged across the country for the better part of the decade. On one hand, a standardized test is one of the easiest and simplest ways to compare and contrast the success of students in certain schools and school districts. On the other hand, some students’ academic abilities do not shine through on tests. Here at OnlineSchools.com, we see the validity in both arguments, which is why we chose to present test data for each school without any editorial comment. Understand that test scores can be a useful indicator of a successful school, but they are not the only indicator.
