Raven Correspondence School Report Card

Raven Correspondence School is an accredited K-12 program that supports parents of Alaska homeschooling students. Operated by the Yukon-Koyukuk School Districts, the school has offices in Fairbanks, Delta Junction, Anchorage, Wasilla, and Juneau. Families in the program maintain monthly contact with the advising teacher. Dual enrollment students are also accepted.

Mission Statement

The mission of Raven Correspondence School, in conjunction with the Yukon-Koyukuk School District, is to provide support to parents so that they can prepare their children to become life-long learners, problem-solvers, and contributing members of their family, community, and society by providing meaningful experiences that create understanding of their cultural heritage and the technological world.

The debate on the importance and value of standardized test scores has raged across the country for the better part of the decade. On one hand, a standardized test is one of the easiest and simplest ways to compare and contrast the success of students in certain schools and school districts. On the other hand, some students’ academic abilities do not shine through on tests. Here at OnlineSchools.com, we see the validity in both arguments, which is why we chose to present test data for each school without any editorial comment. Understand that test scores can be a useful indicator of a successful school, but they are not the only indicator.
