New Day Academy, sponsored by the Modoc Joint Unified School District, is an online public charter school serving California K-12 students in Modoc, Shasta, Lassen, and Siskiyou counties. The program, recognized and funded by the state of California, provides personalized, web-based and face-to-face instruction by credentialed teachers.

Mission Statement

The mission of New Day Academy (formerly Modoc Charter School) is to enable students to become competent, contributing members of society, equipped with the reading, writing, mathematical, technological and problem-solving skills necessary for success in a rapidly changing world. New Day is a K-12 charter school serving the educational needs of students and families who desire a personalized option different from the traditional public school system. The school delivers an individualized curriculum emphasizing the development of strong core learning competencies, knowledge and attributes necessary to lead a fulfilling and successful life. Technology serves as another component of the learning options. New Day centers its efforts and resources on students who learn best independently and have a supportive home environment, but also enrolls at-risk students who are willing to work with a guided, personalized structure.
