Georgia Virtual School Report Card

Georgia Virtual School is a program of the Georgia Department of Education's Office of Technology Services. The program is SACS CASI accredited and operates in partnership with schools and parents to offer middle school and high school level courses across the state.  Georgia Virtual School provides a teacher led, virtual classroom environment.

Geographic DetailsState (FTE) funds are available Fall and Spring semesters for Georgia students, so please check with your school's facilitator to determine if this is an option for you. Out-of-state students must pay tuition for Georgia Virtual Courses. Summer semester is tuition only for all students.

Enrollment Tests Or RequirementsGAVS courses can be scheduled as a part of the regular school day or outside of the school day. Some schools may choose to schedule a course on the student's regular school schedule but then allow that course to be taken on the student's own time outside of the school building. There are many options for course scheduling. In addition, there are many options in terms of scheduling and course start dates. Georgia Virtual School offers a variety of options when it comes to participating in GAVS courses. Please see the information on session choices below to help you select the option that is best for you. Please note that session choices are only available in Fall and Spring.

Necessary Education MaterialsComputer Access: To participate in the Georgia Virtual School Program all students must have regular access to a computer with reliable Internet service. Also, students must have a reliable back-up computer in case of technology problems. Internet Service Provider (ISP) : An ISP is a company that provides the software and access necessary for getting onto the Internet. Students will need reliable Internet access to take GAVS courses. Students will need high speed access to the internet for at least part of each class.
