Student Success StoriesAlbert Jones: Hello, my name is Albert Jones. Before I enrolled in Choice 2000 (C2K), I was a student being held back from operating at full potential, unchallenged by the education I was receiving. I maintained a 4.143 GPA, breezing through the CAHSEE with a perfect score in English and near-perfect in Math. Although these scores would seem good to most, they were unsatisfactory and empty ?A?s? to me. I was achieving, but was disappointed to realize that I could be accomplishing so much more, and unfortunately wasn?t. The curriculum and class-work that I had previously been completing was below my level, and failed to provide me with the educational challenge that I so desperately needed. It was at this crucial time in my life, that I discovered an online alternative to an excellent education. I discovered Choice. From here on out, my life would be different. The technology utilized in this school, the way it operates, the ability to self-pace, the engaging and interactive classrooms, enticed me. Through Choice, ?challenge? was reintroduced into my education, my passion to learn unrestricted. Through constant training and a daily focus on excellence, Choice handed me the keys needed to succeed academically. I would also like to personally thank Ms. L. Parker, who has been instrumental not only in my enrollment at Choice 2000, but also my enrollment at Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) as well. Now, in my Junior year, I?m not just another ?A? student. Thanks to Choice, I am now a proud, concurrently enrolled student, attending C2K and MSJC simultaneously. As of now, I am an active participant in 2 college classes, and already signed up for English 101 and College Algebra this semester. To say the least, I couldn?t possibly be any more pleased with the new direction that Choice has guided my education. I cannot express the depth of my gratitude for what Choice 2000 has done for me. This school has changed my life forever, and I can guarantee it will do the exact same for you. Kimberley Philbrick: I have been home-schooled since 3rd grade, and never in my life have I gotten more than two or three A's at once - until I started at Choice. My first trimester, I got straight A's; and I couldn't have been more surprised with myself. When I started here at Choice, I was almost a year behind in credits. I was horrified I wouldn't graduate with the rest of my class. Thankfully, with the way the school works (going by trimesters, instead of semesters) I was able to catch up on all credits, and now I will indeed graduate on time. All the teachers are super nice, and make it fun to learn. I especially would like to thank Mrs. Van Hoosear, Miss. Miller, and Mrs. Parker all for everything they have done for me these past few trimesters, and helping me move on to the classes I should be in. I would also like to thank the Secretary here at Choice ? Ashley, for being so helpful every time I would e-mail or call her for any help I would need. If you're currently behind on credits, just looking for a school that would give you that choice to catch up; or if you're just looking for a great school in general ? I would most definitely recommend Choice 2000 to you! Just make sure to believe in yourself, and never give up. As long as you do - you will succeed. I'm truly thankful for Choice 2000, and even though I was only here for a year ? it was the best school year of my life. Thank you Choice, Kimberley Philbrick Brandon Hinde: I first came to Choice when I was starting 7th grade. I had always done well in school but became disillusioned by the behavior and attitudes of other students. Often, class time was taken over by behavior problems. The disrespect of some students towards the teachers, classmates, and school property disturbed and frustrated me. The most appealing part of attending Choice was that I was in control of my environment. Because of the computer setting, I felt comfortable and was able to learn. The teachers at Choice were great. Each was genuinely concerned with the progress and success of the individual student--not just the class as a whole. Being able to access up-to-date grades and assignment details was quite helpful and ensured that I never missed an assignment or got behind. I graduated from Choice in 2007 and easily entered college life. My experience at Choice has made it easy for me to take some of my college courses online. I felt prepared and ready for the academic requirements needed for success in college. Choice is a great avenue for a college-bound student to learn and prepare. I am grateful for my years at Choice and for all the teachers who taught me. I would confidently recommend Choice 2000 to anyone whether they be college-bound or not, or if they just need a safe, structured place to learn and achieve.

The debate on the importance and value of standardized test scores has raged across the country for the better part of the decade. On one hand, a standardized test is one of the easiest and simplest ways to compare and contrast the success of students in certain schools and school districts. On the other hand, some students’ academic abilities do not shine through on tests. Here at OnlineSchools.com, we see the validity in both arguments, which is why we chose to present test data for each school without any editorial comment. Understand that test scores can be a useful indicator of a successful school, but they are not the only indicator. Also please note that each state offers slightly different types and versions of these standardized tests, so comparing test results from one state to results from another isn’t informative, or fair. If you have any questions regarding the test scores we have displayed, please contact us and we will be sure to answer your questions to the best of our abilities. Thank you.
